Kids/Teen Mindfulness & Yoga Training

$450Purchase required to enroll
Kids are not just mini adults. Teaching yoga and mindfulness to children effectively takes a particular set of skills. Yoga Haven’s Kids Mindfulness & Yoga Teacher Training will give you the tools to work with school age children in a variety of settings. Yoga and mindfulness practices give kids and teens the tools to better understand themselves, foster their well-being and develop a sense of empowerment and achievement. Schools and parents are increasingly looking to this field as a way to manage high levels of stress.

During this training, we will look at research in the science of mindfulness and delve into why and how yoga and mindfulness can help improve focus/concentration, support creativity and promote self-esteem.

Other topics covered:
    • Why children should practice mindfulness and yoga
    • Benefits of yoga and mindfulness
    • Teaching basics
    • How to foster a non-competitive environment
    • Age appropriate pranayama, asana and mindfulness practices
    • Sample class outlines
    • Tips for dealing with rowdy or disruptive behavior
    • Skill building, learning-by-doing and trouble-shooting

This training is for current yoga teachers or teacher trainees and/or classroom teachers, administrators or parents/caregivers who want to learn to use yoga and mindfulness practices to help the children and teens in their lives. Eligible for 16 CEU credit. Some school districts may cover this if you receive a professional development stipend. Ask your administrators!
If you are interested in taking only the mindfulness section (Thursday & Friday nights), please register here.
